between an ancient cork oak wood (´el soto´)
and freshwater meadows below, this verdant
micro-climate has created a unique habitat enjoyed by our
guests & wildlife alike. Simply

Tucked
into this small wooded valley that runs
North-South into the sea, El
Sueño
is also sheltered year-round from the
seasonal Easterly Levante and Westerly Poniente winds.
Gentle sea
breezes come up the valley to freshen Summer
days and keep the
nights cool without humidity, while Winter
daytime temperatures are
usually mild - so perfect for a visit any
time of year.

Wander
through the ornamental scented herb gardens
designed around Moorish architecture & curl up
under the shady passion-flower pergola in the
central patio with a good book & cold
drink. Relax
in a hammock in the warm sunshine on a private
patio, or take a stroll down
Citrus Walk, with its avenue of lemon, orange
& mandarin trees.

WILDlife
Spain
has more varieties of wildlife than any other
country in Europe. It is also a bird
lover's dream with 70% of Europe's bird
species either visiting or breeding in Spain,
while the countryside abounds with flowers and
butterflies of many colours &
varieties. Rare birds of prey can often
be seen circling above the estate, while owls
& nightingales join in the chorus from the
trees.

The
bottom half of the 8 acre estate is being
turned into a ´wet woodland´ wildlife
preserve with a new lake - so there is plenty of space for all our
'guests' to find their own favourite corner
& relax in beautiful natural surroundings.

| Over
the past five years, the estate
has slowly been restored organically & ecologically,
to create a working
balance. The houses,
patios & gardens have
been re-built using their original
stones, local products &
certified wood and no chemicals
are used in the gardens - just
hard work!
Large
areas of the grounds are left
untouched for much of the year to
encourage & support local
wildlife, so there is a wonderful
array of rarer birds, plants
and smaller animals - which are
increasing every year.
Even the ´Bees &
Butterflies´ herb gardens perform
an essential role to attract
pollinating insects &
offer an aromatic sanctuary

Pure
Water
As
well as enjoying fresh drinkable water from
our own water supply in all the houses, both
swimming pools are ecologically cleaned with a silver & copper
ioniser & mineral filter sand. The water
then feeds into the orchards or lake during
the drier months - as
well being enjoyed by the dipping swallows!
