Items for Children

We have welcomed many children of all ages to El Sueño & with two young daughters of our own, we appreciate the little things that can make such a difference to a holiday - & the packing!

We therefore provide a number of items for both babies and younger children up to five years of age - one set per property, as  detailed below.  These items are all complimentary for the length of your stay, with a single extra security deposit of €100 for all items requested (per set) - which is automatically included for all bookings with children under five years of age.

Please note that these items are not unlimited in number - so they need to be reserved in advance & are also subject to availability & the property restrictions.  If you have any questions or particular requirements, such as twins or two children between 2-5 years - please just ask for extras & we will do our best to help!

A full set, (ie one of each item below), is normally available per property:

Travel Cot - for a child under two years of age to sleep in (please note that the ones supplied are not designed or made available for use as a playpen for any age!)

Mattress for travel cot - these are regularly replaced from specialist providers such as Mothercare, with fitted or washable/waterproof mattress covers.

Seasonal bedlinen for cot - with sheets & blankets, changed at each housekeeping.  Mini duvets & pillows for children over one year of age also provided during cooler months.  However, for children under one year of age it is recommended that parents bring their baby´s own usual top covering eg blanket or sleep bag etc, as it helps them settle better.

Baby Bath - suitable for children aged up to 18 months to 2 years (depending on child's size)

Non-slip Bath Mat - suitable for children aged up to 5 years

Changing Mat - suitable for children aged up 18 months - 2 years

High Chair - suitable for children aged up to 2 years

Booster Seat - suitable for children aged 2 - 5 years

Bed guard - for children aged 2 - 5 years (please note that all the Casita single beds have one side against a wall, so only require one per bed).  

Potty - suitable for children aged up 2-3 years

Mini toilet seat - for smaller children, aged up to 5 years

Child Step - to reach the bathroom sink

Fitted Stair Gates - only required for the Cortijo del Sueño (top and bottom of the stairs), as all the Casitas are on one level internally

Hand Blender - ideal for preparing food for smaller children (as well as gazpacho!) is to be found in a kitchen drawer.

Selection of plastic bowls, plates & plain beakers are also included in all the properties.  However, we do recommend parents bring their own baby spoons & cutlery for younger children, as well as favourite drinking bottles or cups with handles.

All these items are provided with our compliments in good faith, for the sole use and age group for which they are intended - ie the travel cot is just for sleeping not for use as a playpen, the baby bath for use in the bathroom not as a patio paddling pool! 

They are cleaned and checked between every booking - so please note where damage or loss does occur, other than wear & tear, the full replacement cost will be charged to allow for immediate replacement. - as they are always in demand!  However during busy changeovers, if some items disappear or are badly damaged, their replacement is sometimes not possible until during the following week - so remaining items will be offered to the youngest children on the estate first, until replacements can be sourced.

                         BABYSITTING & CHILDMINDING

We can recommend experienced local babysitters & childminders - who we know personally and speak English.  Contact details are available on request before arrival and also given in the property Information Book - so you can make your own personal arrangements directly with them, ( subject to the availability of the childminder).
